Meet the Teacher

So one of the main things I use Instagram and BlogLovin for is to follow other teachers and get to know them. I have created a good bit of friendships on these sites and love getting to know other teachers that have the same interests as me! I decided to link up with Falling Into First for a Meet the Teacher Linky!!

Hey!! My name is Kristi DeRoche! I am a 25 year old 5th grade teacher in South Louisiana. I have lived in South Louisiana my whole life and have no plans to move away. I love the food and culture Louisiana has to offer. I don't necessarily love the weather but other than that, it is a great place to live. This will be my FOURTH year teaching, and third time teaching 5th grade.

I married this awesome guy a little over a year ago, but I've been able to call him mine for about 8 years now! We met when he was dating my best friend in the 7th grade and ended up falling in love years later. He is everything I'm not and balances me out. He makes me want to try harder at everything I do. He supports me and laughs with me. What more could you need??

We have 2 fur babies. Mollie is the grey cat that I have had for 11 years. She is my child. The other is Sid. She is 2 years old and is SO my husband's cat. She is completely crazy and has the funniest personality. I have never seen a cat have so much personality. My cousin rescued her from a grocery store parking lot, and we kept her. Our life, along with Mollie's, hasn't been boring since.

One of our favorite things to do is travel. We love to go on cruises. This past summer we went on cruise number 5 together and are already looking into another. Definitely my favorite way to travel!

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...
Sonic $.99 soft drinks in the A.M. - reusable plastic cups - icees - bubble baths - target - any monogram - my ipad - pinterest - sims free play - snowballs - clean scents - leggings - flip flops - victoria secret - hoodies, year round - cruise ships - beaches - fonts - Ellen Degeneres - concerts - my cell phone - blog stalking

IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?
I think I would want to do something crafty. I love to create and design so maybe have a shop that embroiders or screen prints t-shirts? that's so lame but I'm not sure what else I would do! Teaching always made sense for me!

THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.
Creative. Loving. Careful

FINISH THE SENTENCE, "________,  SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!"
"I hope our planning period and recess gets cancelled today,.... said no teacher ever!"

Q: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?
Eric Church, Britney Spears, and of course my late Aunt D!
Q: IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?
"I just need one thing from the store and that's it."

Q:YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?

I would pick the power to heal someone with my touch. Is that a super power? why not! lol
Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?
"Let go and Let God!"

Q: IF YOU HAD TO SING ONE SONG ON AMERICAN IDOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
 "Baggage Claim" Miranda Lambert

Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?
Night Owl. I do better work late at night.

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU'VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?
I really love my Chevron Classroom Newsletter- EDITABLE. It is my all-time best seller that I did not expect. I made this product for my own classroom and just so happened to upload it to my store. It have sold so many of this product. So many teacher benefit from this newsletter!

Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!

I was a competitive cheerleader for 6 years! I cheered for our town's first all-star competitive cheerleading squad and also my junior high then high school squads. We won many national titles and it was the best times. I would not have spent my high school years any other way!
Yep! That's me on top!

Have a great week!!

  1. Cute blog! You're from Southern Louisiana?! I used to live in Slidell! I loved it down there. My boyfriend and I went to New Orleans during Christmas Break last year, and I'm hoping I can convince him to go again. I LOVE LOUISIANA.

    Happy to stop by,
    Britt
